Frequently Asked Questions

Learn more about our asset monitoring system and how it can benefit your clinical laboratory

What types of laboratory equipment can be monitored?

Our system can monitor virtually any laboratory equipment with appropriate sensors, including refrigerators, freezers (including ultra-low temperature freezers), incubators, water baths, ovens, analytical instruments, and more. We use a combination of direct equipment interfaces and external IoT sensors depending on the equipment capabilities.

How does the alert system work?

The system features a multi-tiered alert system with customizable thresholds. When a parameter exceeds configured limits, alerts can be sent via email, SMS, mobile app push notification, or integration with existing paging systems. Escalation paths can be configured so that if acknowledgment doesn't occur within a specified timeframe, additional personnel are notified.

Is the system compliant with regulatory requirements?

Yes, our system is designed to meet CAP, CLIA, FDA, and other regulatory requirements for continuous monitoring. It includes features for 21 CFR Part 11 compliance including electronic signatures, audit trails, and tamper-evident records. The system has been successfully used in CAP and FDA-regulated laboratories.

How are the sensors installed and calibrated?

Our IoT sensors are designed for easy installation with minimal disruption to lab operations. Wireless sensors can be installed in minutes. For calibration, we provide on-site calibration services using NIST-traceable standards, or the system can be integrated with your existing calibration program. All calibration records are maintained within the system.

Can the system work without internet connectivity?

Yes, the system includes local buffering capabilities that will continue to monitor and store data even during network outages. Once connectivity is restored, the buffered data is automatically uploaded to maintain a complete record. Critical alerts can be configured to use alternate communication methods if internet connectivity is lost.
